Estoi, village and parish of the municipality of Faro in its rural area, extending from the fertile Campina de Faro, to the peaks of the Serra de Monte Figo (Cerros de São Miguel, Malhão and Guelhim) that have been indispensable lighthouses since antiquity navigation and that are true natural viewpoints of this Riviera, which is the Algarve coast.
Its location, associated with the good quality of soils and the existence of several very rich sources of water, were parameters that led to the area being heavily populated since the most remote times, as attested by archaeological findings.
It was also these privileged conditions that led to the construction of Villa Milreu during the Roman Domain.
